Welcome to the blog. This is my first post.

That’s largely what the default text says. Actually not my first post by any means, but the first on this particular blog. I’ve tried to keep a regular blog going before, and indeed there are still posts ‘out there’ (well, here and here), but what with me trying to keep Jockrock‘s information up-to-date as well as supply reviews for is this music? it always seems to lapse.

So, I’ll use this blog to generally spraff on about, er, stuff. I’ll be saving the actual formal reviews for those aforementioned websites.

Why get back in the blog saddle again? Oddly, it was ‘inspired’ by the 20th anniversary of King Tut’s – the Glasgow venue which has been on the go for at least 10 years less than I’ve been gig-going. There was a (ahem) star-studded showbiz party there last weekend and of course everyone was asking everyone else what their first / favourite show at the venue had been. And I realised that had blogs been invented in 1990, recalling my personal choices would have been rather easier. So, a couple of decades too late,…

Plus, the show was the kind of thing that I wanted to write something about but didn’t want to turn into a formal review (how annoying is it to read a review of a gig that wasn’t actually open to the public?)

But I’ll get onto that in a bit…
