An A4 mag which existed for several years, SZS was conceived by members of Borders band Dawn of the Replicants. I did a few pieces for them towards the end of the magazine’s life (hmm, a pattern emerging here…) including the piece below on the Texas label Trance Syndicate.

After winding up SZS evolved into Trigger, a fortnightly nationally-distributed zine which I can’t recall that much about, but I suspect commercial pressures diluted the general surreal underground nature of its predecessor. But, I’d imagine, it didn’t become quite commercial enough, as it lasted less time than SZS… which has back issue material etc online here
