Go! (I’m pretty sure the exclamation mark was an integral part) was a Glasgow-based listings magazine which (I think) came out fortnightly. At the time The List was pretty much Edinburgh-centric so this was an alternative of sorts, from the same publisher as dance mag M8. As it happened, it failed, though it did encourage The List to go country-wide (well, east and west). It also spawned some music nights under the Up-starts banner. And, it ran items on subjects other than music – for example, technology
With only the odd fanzine covering music in Scotland at that time Go! had a few notable features, none more so than (cough) the first Scottish interview with some up-and-coming lads called Coldplay…
There was also plenty of coverage of local acts, such as this lot…
And of course, my close showbiz mates Coldplay…
