Vitaminic

Vitaminic was an early mp3 download company – think a version of iTunes from the days when most people didn’t have modems. A business truly before its time, I worked as Scottish Manager (think that was the job title anyway). A chap called Chris Cass ran it, he’d previously been head of Che Records (who propelled Urusei Yatsura into the top 40) and another ‘regional rep was one John Delf, who was then a very highly-regarded soundman for The Delgados.

My function was to sign up bands, recording studios, venues, you name it, to put their new releases on the site for download – anyone who could drive traffic to the site (the idea being the larger the roster of bands famous or unsigned the more ready we’d be for when broadband hit the UK around 6 years later.

All this is unimportant as the job lasted scarcely a year as the funding ran out. Shame.
